What to Expect
We believe that a love for cooking and an ability to do so is an important skill that every child should have. That is why we start to teach children from as young as 2.5 years old, how to cook a whole range of delicious, nutritious dishes. We’ll cook both sweet and savoury, from beetroot cakes to mini quiches with a spattering of chocolate in the middle! All class leaders have undergone enhanced CRB checks and the relevant hygiene safety training to ensure that your child is in safe hands.
Time is now far more precious than it used to be and many busy families have neither the time, nor the inclination to create the inevitable mess that will ensue when a toddler meets a bag of flour. That’s where Crafty Cooks comes in, your child can come along to a fun and friendly environment with similarly aged children and learn how to create a variety of culinary delights…. Safe in the knowledge you’ll have no tidying up to do at the end!
Cooking with toddlers is great for the fussier eating child, and anyone keen to teach their child about the food we eat. Whilst their food cooks we’ll run an activity as a group tasting and discovering new foods and finding out where they come from
Classes are timed to last 45minutes but please allow an hour. At the end of each session you’ll be given a recipe card to add to your very own recipe book so that you can make the recipes again and again, along with a reusable canvas bag to carry your goodies home in.
We also run holiday and weekend workshops as well as after school classes for older children, and parties for all ages.
If you are looking for a fun activity for your school, nursery or childrens centre then Crafty Cooks may be just what you need. We offer a whole array of services designed to suit all budgets and needs.
We can send a member of staff to your setting to teach the children, and their parents where applicable, a range of healthy and delicious recipes. This can be weekly, monthly or as a one off class.
We can provide you with the tools you need to run your own cookery sessions. We will supply you with indepth, laminated lesson plans for a selection of recipes of your choice at a cost of £6 each.
Why not join ‘The Cookie Cutter Club’ and make money for your setting? We offer a six week correspondance course for your pupils to sign up to. Each week they’ll recieve a new, child friendly recipe card, a shopping list for the following weeks recipe, and a new cookie cutter to take home and build up their own collection. For each child that joins a percentage of the fee will be donated back to the school.
