What to Expect
Come hang out with me, as I take you on a tour of the place in Nairobi where I grew up. You'll get to meet local people and enjoy a home-cooked Kenyan lunch.
Ruai is a township within Nairobi, and a typical residential area where you can learn more about life in Kenya. The center of Ruai is different from Nairobi downtown; in Ruai, the tallest buildings are two floors high, and we have a lot of churches. The Ruai Water Treatment Plant is a very unique place, where you can see how the water for the whole of the city is treated.
You may have seen all the attractions of Nairobi, but meeting with locals is a different experience. I am looking forward to having a nice conversation, and teaching you more about what it is like to live in this part of the world.
We will also pop into the local tavern for a beverage. The tour will finish at the house of my mother, who is a great cook. We'll get to enjoy one of her home-cooked lunches, which are always very tasty!
I can't wait to welcome you to my home town of Ruai.
