What to Expect

You don´t have to travel many hours to see wildlife when you are in Nairobi.
Lions, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, crocodile, hippo, gazelle, antelope and more animals can be found in Nairobi national park. There are no restaurants inside - but nice picnic areas.

Karen Blixen became world known from the movie "Out of Africa" starred by Meryl Streep and Robert Redford. Karen Blixen was a Danish author and Baroness when she started with a coffee factory in Kenya. A part of Nairobi is called Karen, named after Karen Blixen. Visit her coffee farm, hear the amazing stories from her life which is also a piece of Kenyan history.

Inside the Karen Blixen estate we will visit Kazuri beads factory. This is a wonderful fair trade success story, Kazuri Beads employs more than 300 women and exports beautiful colorful beads to 20 different countries. “Kazuri” means “small and beautiful” in Swahili, which the beads are, but also the result in helping unemployed women in the area which is now also making other pottery goods with the same colorful designs.
You are allowed to go around and see the ladies when they work. The factory started in 1975 by hiring disadvantage women.

Plan for the day:
You will be picked at 6am from your hotel and proceed to Nairobi national park. Game drive in the park up to noon.
Stop for lunch on the way to Karen Blixen museum or have picnic lunch in the park before checking out. After visit Karen Blixen museum we stop at Kazuri beads factory before you are taken back to your hotel.

The Localist must respond within 48 hours. We authorize your card for the full amount, but you will not be charged for the activity until the Localist has accepted the booking.

3. Security for you

Funds are not sent to the Localist until after the activity has been completed, so you do not have to worry about your money disappearing.
